Baseball Recap: Indian River Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Indian River extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 11-5. They walked away with a 7-2 win over the South Lewis Falcons. This was a revenge game for the Wolves: when they faced off against the Falcons last Tuesday, they had to take a 7-2 loss.

Chase Bearup spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Dominic Cappuccetti, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Logan Farrell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

As for South Lewis, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-2. The game marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

On South Lewis' side, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Conner Carpenter, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Indian River does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for South Lewis, they will take on Holland Patent at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
