Football Recap: Manual Comes Up Short at Home Against Normal University

Manual unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were dealt a 71-22 defeat at the hands of the Normal University Pioneers on Friday. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-22.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Normal University to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cade Cunningham, who picked up 202 receiving yards and three scores, and also rushed for 46 yards. Rhett Lynch was another key rusher, gaining 138 total yards and four touchdowns.

Manual didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-14 loss against Richwoods on the 5th. As for Normal University, they have also already played their next contest, a 19-14 defeat against Bloomington on the 5th.
