Central Valley has gone 8-1-1 against Atwater recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. Atwater is hoping to do what Merced couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Central Valley's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Central Valley's defense stepped up to hand Merced a 4-0 shutout.

Central Valley hit Merced with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Aaralyn Jauregui (2), Ayleen Apreza, and Marcella Larranaga.

Meanwhile, Atwater narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Summerville 1-0.

Central Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1-1. As for Atwater, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Central Valley took their win against Atwater in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Central Valley since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
