Two dominant backs in Antwan Raymond and Dj Johnson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Clearwater Academy International Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Riverview Sarasota Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clearwater Academy International should still be riding high after a big victory, while Riverview Sarasota will be looking to get back into the win column.
Last Friday, Clearwater Academy International beat Gray Collegiate Academy 34-27. 34 seems to be a good number for Clearwater Academy International as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Raymond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 184 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Raymond's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Clearwater Academy International also got help from Dallas Sims who showed off his sure hands for 85 receiving yards.
Clearwater Academy International's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Evan Aubrey and Keyari James who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Riverview Sarasota might've scored the first points on Friday, but it was Berkeley Prep who claimed the real prize. Riverview Sarasota took a 20-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of Berkeley Prep. That means Riverview Sarasota has now suffered back-to-back defeats.
The win makes it two in a row for Clearwater Academy International and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.0 points per game. As for Riverview Sarasota, their loss on Friday dropped their record down to 3-3.
Everything came up roses for Clearwater Academy International against Riverview Sarasota when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 46-7 victory.
