Soccer Recap: Tough Loss for St. Michael's

After flying high against Monte Del Sol Charter last Thursday, St. Michael came back down to earth. The Horsemen lost 5-0 to the Moriarty Pintos on Thursday. St. Michael's were red-hot offensively heading into the match, having scored no less than four goals in the three contests prior, but Moriarty's defense proved too tough.

St. Michael's has now lost five of their last six games on the road. That leaves them at a 3-4 record this season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-0 Santa Fe Prep (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 75.9% over those games). As for Moriarty, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Michael's will welcome West Las Vegas at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Las Vegas' last three games have been decided by no more than a goal (dating back to last season), so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Moriarty, they will play host again on Monday to welcome Portales, where kickoff is scheduled at 5:00 p.m.
