Softball Recap: Eaglecrest Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Eaglecrest dropped to 6-2 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windsor Wizards. The matchup marked the Raptors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Eaglecrest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sybella Trevino, who went 2-for-4 with one double. That double marked the first that Trevino has hit this season.

As for Windsor, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.

On Windsor's side, Jenna McGinnis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up ten Ks. McGinnis has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Izzy Eisenmann was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Maizie Maga?a, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Eaglecrest will challenge Golden at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Raptors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Demons have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Windsor, they are taking a road trip to take on Fort Collins at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
