Volleyball Game Preview: Clarkston Angoras vs. Wheeler Wildcats

After both having extra time off, the Clarkston Angoras and the Wheeler Wildcats will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Clarkston is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Denmark, who was ranked fourth at the time (Clarkston was ranked fifth). Clarkston fell just short of Denmark by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. The Angoras' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Wheeler came tearing into Tuesday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Buccaneers by a score of 2-0.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wheeler was: they took both sets by at least ten points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15.

Clarkston's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Wheeler, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Clarkston came up short against Wheeler when the teams last played on March 11th, falling 2-0. Can Clarkston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
