Basketball Game Preview: Marina Vikings vs. Los Alamitos Griffins

Marina hasn't had much luck against Los Alamitos recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Marina Vikings will host the Los Alamitos Griffins at 7:00 p.m. Marina will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

If Los Alamitos heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Marina took over last week. Marina came out on top against Huntington Beach by a score of 55-42 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Los Alamitos' good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Corona del Mar 35-29. The game marked the Griffins' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Marina has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.9 points per game. As for Los Alamitos, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-7.

Marina was taken down by Los Alamitos 68-36 when the teams last played on January 9th. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Marina was down 36-15.
