Morningside is 0-6 against Leuzinger since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Morningside Monarchs will be playing at home against the Leuzinger Olympians at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Morningside scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Hawthorne 66-6 on the road. The win was familiar territory for Morningside who now have three in a row.
Meanwhile, Leuzinger had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 44.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-16 win over Centennial at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Leuzinger considering their one-point performance the matchup before.
Dresha Moore continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Naijah Nelson was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five assists.
Morningside's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Leuzinger, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home.
