A well-balanced attack led Gar-Field over Hylton in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Red Wolves blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 77-42 final score. Given the Red Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 297th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gar-Field to victory, but perhaps none more so than JJ Bell, who went 6-for-13 on his way to 16 points in addition to six boards and five assists. The matchup was Bell's fourth in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Troy Hamlin, who posted six points along with eight assists and five rebounds.

Gar-Field smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in five consecutive games.

Gar-Field pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.5 points over those games. As for Hylton, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Gar-Field and Seton will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hylton, they will take on Herndon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
