Softball Recap: Chattahoochee Cougars vs. Johns Creek Gladiators
Chattahoochee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Thursday, dropping them down to 0-8. They lost 18-3 to the Johns Creek Gladiators. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly 15 runs.
As for Johns Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10. Considering their hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
For Johns Creek's part, Swara Khatri looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits.
At the plate, Uma Pittman was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Zelda Arthur, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Looking ahead, Chattahoochee will head out on the road to square off against Northview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Johns Creek, they will be playing at home against Cherokee at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
