Basketball Game Preview: Lake Placid Dragons vs. Moore Haven Terriers

Lake Placid and Moore Haven are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Lake Placid Dragons will welcome the Moore Haven Terriers at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake Placid has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 6.

Lake Placid is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against DeSoto County on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lake Placid was beaten by DeSoto County 67-18. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 50-15.

Moore Haven has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 66-49 bruising from Avon Park on Tuesday.

Moore Haven's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Lake Placid, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Lake Placid took a serious blow against Moore Haven in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, falling 72-27. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moore Haven's Clifford Love, who posted 21 points along with five assists and five boards.
