Basketball Recap: Modoc Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

Modoc's game on Monday was all tied up 31-31 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They strolled past the Hoopa Valley Warriors with points to spare, taking the game 66-52. This was a revenge game for the Braves: when they faced off against the Warriors back in December of 2024, they had to take a 50-44 loss.

Modoc's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Katie Erquiaga led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. What's more, Erquiaga also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Jordyn Sandage was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.

Modoc's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Hoopa Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Modoc won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Fall River at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hoopa Valley, they will venture away from home to take on Ferndale at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
