Football Game Preview: Sherman Tide vs. Wayne Pioneers

The Sherman Tide will face off against the Wayne Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wayne took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Sherman, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Sherman strolled past River View with points to spare, taking the game 22-6. The Tide haven't had any issues with the Raiders recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Trey Lester produced another solid effort rushing for 129 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, while also picking up 103 receiving yards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 100.5 receiving yards per game.

Another reason for the win was Sherman's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Connor Lovejoy and Levi Sprouse, who racked up four sacks between them. Sherman got some further help from Dawson Green: he picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Wayne came up short against Logan on Friday, falling 32-6. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sherman's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wayne, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
