The Plainfield South Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Normal Community Ironmen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Plainfield South is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

Plainfield South is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Joliet West on Thursday. The Cougars walked away with a 52-40 victory over the Tigers. The Cougars pushed the score to 48-27 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Layla Lesure was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds. Those 24 points gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was La'Niya Willis, who posted ten points in addition to five boards and four steals.

Plainfield South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Normal Community came up short against Peoria Notre Dame on Friday and fell 49-38. The defeat continues a trend for the Ironmen in their meetings with the Irish: they've now lost five in a row.

Plainfield South now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Normal Community, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
