Basketball Recap: Bayfront Charter Takes a Loss

After flying high against San Diego Jewish Academy last Thursday, Bayfront Charter came back down to earth. The Bayfront Charter Sharks took a blow against the Horizon Prep Lions on Monday, falling 58-18. While losing is never fun, the Sharks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1181st, while the Lions are ranked 385th).

Bayfront Charter has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Horizon Prep, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bayfront Charter will challenge The Cambridge School at 2:45 p.m. on Friday. The Cambridge School's defense has only allowed 21.9 points per game this season, so Bayfront Charter's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Horizon Prep, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Horizon Prep Lions take on the San Ysidro Cougars at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Horizon Prep's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while San Ysidro has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road.
