Soccer Game Preview: Apple Valley vs. Serrano

The Apple Valley Sun Devils will square off against the Serrano Diamondbacks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Apple Valley will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

If Apple Valley beats Serrano with three goals on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Apple Valley came out on top against Oak Hills by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. Given the Sun Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Bulldogs are ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jadyn Bechtel and Sophia Spiker scored all three of Apple Valley's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 16 goals.

Meanwhile, neither Serrano nor Hesperia could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Apple Valley pushed their record up to 8-0-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Serrano's draw gives them a new season record of 5-4-2.

Everything went Apple Valley's way against Serrano when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Apple Valley made off with a 4-0 victory. Does Apple Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Serrano turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
