Baseball Game Preview: Richmond Hill Wildcats vs. Camden County Wildcats

For the second straight game, Richmond Hill will face off against Camden County. We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Richmond Hill has four straight wins, Camden County has ten straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Richmond Hill is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Camden County 16-10 on Tuesday. Richmond Hill not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

For Camden County's part, Will Johnson put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. That's the most strikeouts Johnson has posted since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Preston Conrad and Jackson Renault did some serious damage despite the final result: Conrad scored a run while going 1-for-4, while Renault scored a run while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave Conrad a new career-high in RBI (two). Caden Napier was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his six plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Camden County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Richmond Hill pushed their record up to 13-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Camden County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.
