Soccer Game Preview: Gonzales vs. Pacific Grove

The Gonzales Spartans will face off against the Pacific Grove Breakers at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Pacific Grove took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Gonzales, who comes in off a win.

Gonzales is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They never let Palma onto the board and left with a 5-0 win on Thursday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Spartans with their most commanding win of the season.

Meanwhile, Pacific Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of Palma. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Breakers couldn't quite close it out.

The victory made it two in a row for Gonzales and bumps their season record up to 3-6-1. As for Pacific Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Gonzales beat Pacific Grove by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 1-0. Will Gonzales repeat their success, or does Pacific Grove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
