Baseball Recap: Newark Academy Comes Up Short

Bloomfield hit Newark Academy with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Minutemen fell 6-1 to the Bengals. The Minutemen were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bengals earlier this season, when they won 12-6.

Newark Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Andrews, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Newark Academy now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Bloomfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-20.

Coming up, Newark Academy will face off against Morristown-Beard on Thursday. Bloomfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
