Basketball Game Preview: Valley Vikings vs. Freeport Yellowjackets

Valley is 0-10 against Freeport since January of 2017 but things could change on Monday. The Valley Vikings will challenge the Freeport Yellowjackets at 7:30 p.m. Freeport took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Valley, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Valley turned things around against Derry on Monday. They strolled past the Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 56-37.

Meanwhile, Freeport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by Oakland Catholic 58-11. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Valley's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Freeport, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Valley lost to Freeport on the road by a decisive 56-42 margin in their previous meeting on January 2nd. Can Valley avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
