Gretna extended their winning streak (dating back to last season) to 42 on Saturday, bumping them up to 4-0. Everything went their way against the Blair Bears as they made off with a 13-0 win. The Dragons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Taelyn Rupiper looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Emerson Johnson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Maddie Kurrus was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Gretna was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .722. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Blair fell to 3-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Blair's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaitlynn O'Neil, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double.

Gretna didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Elkhorn South on the 23rd. As for Blair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against Marian on the 23rd.
