Football Recap: Carlynton Starts Season with Win at Home

Carlynton gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Carrick Raiders by a score of 20-12. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won three in a row.

Carlynton can attribute much of their success to Justin Berger, who rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

Carlynton's run defense was locked in: Carrick could only muster two yards per carry. The Cougars didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.1.

Although Carrick took the loss, they still got scores from Kejuan Johnson and Brian Babjak.

Carlynton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-6 loss against Avella on the 29th. As for Carrick, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 54-30 defeat against Albert Gallatin on the 28th.
