Soccer Game Preview: Callaway vs. Fayette County

The Callaway Cavaliers will venture away from home to face off against the Fayette County Tigers at 7:55 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Callaway's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They won by a goal and slipped past Pike County 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Cavaliers were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Fayette County). They came out on top against Dutchtown by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday.

Callaway now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Fayette County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Callaway came up short against Fayette County when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 3-1. Can Callaway avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
