Basketball Recap: Hamilton Braves vs. Williams Yellowjackets
The Hamilton Braves scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Williams at home to the tune of 82-21. Hamilton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 20 points or more this season.
Hamilton found their leader in underclassman Hannah Bonesio, who scored 24 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bonesio has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Sheri Enneking, who scored 14 points.
Despite the defeat, Williams saw an underclassman step up: Jennifer Vega scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lupita Zuniga, who scored no points along with eight blocks.
The win (which was Hamilton's ninth in a row) raised their record to 17-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Williams, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hamilton will challenge the Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Molinos will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 1139th, while the Braves are ranked 539th). As for Williams, they will head out on the road to face off against the Lynx at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
