Garden Plain had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 victory over the Beloit Trojans on Friday. The win was nothing new for the Owls as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Garden Plain's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Braylen Dold, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. The Owls also got a significant boost from Eli Eck, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 120 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Garden Plain was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 355 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 163 rushing yards in seven consecutive matchups.

Another reason for the win was Garden Plain's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Kyle Koester was the leader with two.

Garden Plain's record now sits at 9-1. As for Beloit, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Coming up, Garden Plain will face off against Hoisington on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Owls 11.2, the Cardinals 11.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Beloit does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
