Basketball Game Preview: Las Plumas Thunderbirds vs. Oroville Tigers

The Las Plumas Thunderbirds and the Oroville Tigers will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest, having both just played. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Las Plumas saw some tournament action on Thursday. They put the hurt on Alhambra with a sharp 57-32 win.

Meanwhile, Oroville had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 54-26 victory over Wheatland. The Tigers not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 11, 2024 (when they won 62-32).

Las Plumas now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Oroville, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.

Everything went Las Plumas' way against Oroville when the teams last played back in February, as Las Plumas made off with a 57-31 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunderbirds since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
