Teigan Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Presleigh Ford was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Bradynn Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
The home team had won the previous four meetings between West Platte and Mid-Buchanan, and Mid-Buchanan kept the tradition alive. The Bluejays came up short against the Dragons on Thursday, falling 10-0. Considering the last time the Bluejays couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.
West Platte saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddie Cline, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
North Andrew's record is now 4-10. As for West Platte, with the defeat, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-3.
North Andrew might still be hurting after the 15-6 loss they got from West Platte in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
