Softball Recap: Tahlequah Has No Trouble Against Tushka

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Saturday. Tahlequah blew past Tushka 11-0. With that victory, Tahlequah brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Zoie Griffin made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Griffin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last three matches.

In other batting news, Tahlequah got a big performance out of Riley Dotson, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Dotson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base.

Tahlequah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .478. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Tahlequah's record now sits at 10-2. As for Tushka, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-2.

Tahlequah and Tushka should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Tigers (ranked 20th) will meet Muskogee (ranked 105th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Tushka will take on Calera at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (28 vs. 96).
