Birdville couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were beaten by the Crowley Eagles 50-14 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 325th, while the Eagles are ranked 98th).
