Baseball Recap: Franklin County Find Success

Franklin County gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Vernon Yellowjackets. The Seahawks haven't had any issues with the Yellowjackets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Chason Martina spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Sadiq Jones was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Franklin County is 11-1 when Jones posts two or more runs, but 2-5 otherwise.

Franklin County's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.
