Baseball Recap: Covington Academy Takes a Loss

Covington Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 4-1 to the Peachtree Academy Panthers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-5 on Tuesday.

Covington Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Lowery, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Lowery has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.

Covington Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Peachtree Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Covington Academy will host CrossPointe Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Peachtree Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Creekside Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
