Volleyball Recap: Rincon/University's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Rincon/University had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Sunnyside Blue Devils as they made off with a 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-1 last Tuesday.

Rincon/University was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-11, 25-16.

Antonio Sabelli paced Rincon/University's offense, picking up 16 kills. Sabelli got some help from Tim Tran and his 26 assists. Finally, Matthias Fritz and Xander Lauretta kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked two attacks.

Rincon/University pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Sunnyside, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-15.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Rincon/University is set to take on their familiar foe Marana at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sunnyside will face off against rival Tucson High Magnet School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
