Softball Recap: Russellville Comes Up Short

Russellville suffered their biggest defeat since September 12, 2024 on Thursday. They came up short against the Linn Wildcats, falling 12-5. The Indians have struggled against the Wildcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

K'Lea Basnett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and eight unearned) runs on 12 hits.

At the plate, Ava Beckel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season.

Russellville's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Linn, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Russellville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Harrisburg on the 15th. As for Linn, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 8-0 victory against Montgomery County on the 12th.
