While West Iredell's victory against Wilkes Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Warriors skirted past the Eagles 57-55.

West Iredell was led to victory by Austin Bailey and Ja'Braylan Patterson. Bailey shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points and five boards, while Patterson almost dropped a double-double with ten points and nine rebounds. That's the most boards Bailey has posted since back in January. Gabe Harshman was another key player, putting up seven points and 12 rebounds.

West Iredell smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilkes Central only pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Ayden Barrett and Jordan Parks certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Barrett dropped a double-double with 17 points and 14 boards, while Parks went 7-for-14 en route to 20 points.

The win got West Iredell back to even at 1-1. As for Wilkes Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coming up, West Iredell is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on St. Stephens at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Wilkes Central, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 76-50 loss against Bandys on the 24th.
