Basketball Recap: Katella Comes Up Short

Katella was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-49 heartbreaker at the hands of the Santa Ana Saints. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 36-25 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2021.

Santa Ana's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jazmine Kalleigh Solis led the charge by putting up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cynthia Silva, who posted 13 points.

Katella's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Santa Ana, they moved to 10-7 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Fullerton the next time they take the court. Santa Ana will head out to face Fullerton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Katella will host them on Thursday.
