Soccer Game Preview: Olympia vs. Pekin

Olympia is 0-5 against Pekin since September of 2018 but things could change on Thursday. The Spartans will face off against the Dragons at 4:30 p.m. Olympia has given up an average of 6.8 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Olympia fell victim to Illinois Valley Central and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Grey Ghosts, falling 7-0.

Meanwhile, Pekin can bid farewell to their nine-match losing streak thanks to their match on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Canton, sneaking past 2-1.

Pekin's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-14. As for Olympia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.

Olympia might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Pekin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
