Softball Recap: Silex Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Silex can now relate to. They fell just short of the St. Elizabeth Hornets by a score of 2-0 on Saturday. The Owls were red-hot at the plate heading into the game (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Hornets' pitchers proved too tough.

With the defeat, Silex broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 12-7. As for St. Elizabeth, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Silex does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Elizabeth, they will challenge Princeton on Friday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
