High school basketball: Clay Scofield of Alabama leads national scoring leaders at over 41 points per game

Lighthouse Baptist Academy guard has single-game totals of 61 and 53 this season.

Clay Scofield of Lighthouse Baptist Academy (Theodore, Ala.) is high school basketball's national scoring leader at 41.0 points per game, according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps. The 6-foot-5 junior is the only player nationally to average 40 points or more.

In addition to his scoring exploits, Scofield is posting 14.9 rebounds, 4.8 blocked shots, 3.4 assists and 3.3 steals per game. He scored a season-high 61 points in an 83-74 loss to Pensacola Christian Academy (Pensacola, Fla.) last month.

Scofield notched a quadruple-double with 40 points, 17 rebounds, 11 assists and 10 blocked shots in an 80-39 win over Aletheia Christian Academy (Pensacola, Fla.) two weeks ago.

Benjamin (Texas) sophomore Grayson Rigdon is the nation's second leading scorer with an average of 38.7 points per contest. He posted back-to-back 50-point games in late January.

Zeke Brock of Cape Fear Christian Academy (Erwin, N.C.) sits in the No. 3 spot this week with a scoring average of 37.3 points per outing. The junior point guard went for a season-high 51 points in a 66-55 win over Falcon Christian Academy (Falcon, N.C.) on Jan. 23.
