Sweet Home has been on a difficult stretch since their win on September 23. They came up short against the Newport Cubs on Thursday, falling 4-1. While losing is never fun, Sweet Home can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon soccer rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while Newport are ranked 37th).

Sweet Home's loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Newport, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3-1 record this season.

Sweet Home will challenge North Marion at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Marion's last four contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Newport, they will host Stayton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stayton's defense has only allowed 0.5 goals per game this season, so Newport's offense will have their work cut out for them.
