Football Game Preview: Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders vs. Donna Redskins

The Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North Raiders will venture away from home to take on the Donna Redskins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

On Friday, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North beat Harlingen South 48-35. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Hawks are ranked 679th).

Ethan Guerra was his usual excellent self, rushing for 327 yards and four scores while picking up 12.6 yards per carry. Those 327 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Drayden Espinoza got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Donna ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They snuck past Donna North with a 27-21 win. The Redskins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Donna's win came from a few key players Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Joel Duran, who rushed for 106 yards and one TD on only nine carries. His longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards. Aden Coronado was another key player, rushing for 66 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Donna was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 257 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North, their record now sits at 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North against Donna in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 48-11 win. In that matchup, the Raiders amassed a halftime lead of 45-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
