Softball Game Preview: Wright City Wildcats vs. Owensville Dutchmen

The Wright City Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Owensville Dutchmen at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Wright City has given up an average of 8.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Wright City faced off against Mark Twain on Friday. The Wildcats lost 22-10 to the Tigers. The Wildcats have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Owensville suffered their closest loss since September 16th on Thursday. They fell just short of Montgomery County by a score of 6-4.

Owensville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Wright City, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Wright City beat Owensville 7-4 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
