Basketball Recap: Iroquois Takes a Loss

Iroquois was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were dealt a 49-12 loss at the hands of the Union City Bears. The Braves were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-8.

Union City's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cheyenne Cummings led the charge by putting up ten points and five steals. Cummings has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Greer, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Iroquois' defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Union City, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season.

Iroquois is taking a road trip to face off against North East at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Union City has already played their next game (against Northwestern), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
