Basketball Recap: Reagan Wentzel's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Upper Dauphin Area over Biglerville

Upper Dauphin Area and Biglerville squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Upper Dauphin Area had to settle for second. They lost 48-28 to the Biglerville Canners. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Canners apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2021.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Reagan Wentzel, who went 5-for-8 on her way to 11 points. Another player making a difference was Kasey Weibley, who posted two points and seven rebounds.

Biglerville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Rylie Brewer led the charge by going 6-for-10 to rack up 17 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Brewer a new career-high in points. Kierney Weigle was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Upper Dauphin Area and nudges their season record down to 15-10. As for Biglerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Upper Dauphin Area nor Biglerville have any future games scheduled.
