Texas high school football: Week 8 schedule, scores

This week's Texas high school football schedule is headlined by a battle of hot teams Friday when Allen travels to No. 14 McKinney.

The Allen running game is averaging nearly 280 yards per outing during a four-game win streak where it has outscored opponents by around 33 points per game. Texas commit Zina Umeozulu leads the defense and the Eagles have recovered from an 0-2 start.

McKinney (6-0) leans on a strong running game and defense as well. Led by five-star Florida commit Xavier Filsaime and Oklahoma State linebacker commit Jonathan Agumadu, McKinney is limiting its opposition to just 12.2 points a game. The Lions are scoring 36 points a contest and averaging 222 yards per game on the ground.

Both clubs are coming off of bye weeks.

In other action, Dripping Springs takes a five-game winning streak on the road to battle No. 8 Westlake (Austin) and unbeaten North Forney (Forney) travels to No. 16 Rockwall.

A week after falling to No. 5 Southlake Carroll (Southlake), Keller will try to rebound on the road against unbeaten and No. 21 Byron Nelson (Trophy Club).
