Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Lincoln Southwest

Lincoln Southwest entered their tilt with Marian on Saturday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Crusaders. Considering the Silver Hawks have won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Maisey McCarty was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since September 2nd.

In other batting news, Ashley Jucht was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ja'Sara Wilson, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

Lincoln Southwest was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in four consecutive games.

Lincoln Southwest's record is now 23-2. As for Marian, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Lincoln Southwest is set to challenge their familiar foe Elkhorn South at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Silver Hawks 1.6, the Storm 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Marian will take on rival Omaha South on Tuesday.
