Recap: Mart Panthers vs. Deweyville Pirates
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Mart Panthers walked away with it. They took their contest on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-0 win over the Pirates. The win was just business as usual for Mart, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Mart's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jd Bell, who rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 carries. Bell has been hot recently, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last six times he's played. Richard Green was another key contributor, picking up 117 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Mart's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Deweyville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Mart will be playing at home against Lovelady at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lovelady is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Deweyville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
