Basketball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Takes a Loss

Canyon Crest Academy played a tough game on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 59-22 defeat at the hands of Mission Vista. The Ravens were down 46-19 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elena Colon, who posted five points and ten boards. Colon has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 11 times she's played.

It was another big night for Jaiden Sidhu, who scored 20 points for Mission Vista. Jordynn Rogers was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Canyon Crest Academy dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their third straight at home. As for Mission Vista, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon Crest Academy will square off against El Camino at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Canyon Crest Academy is facing El Camino at the right time seeing as El Camino is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Mission Vista, they will challenge San Dieguito Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Mission Vista has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
