Basketball Game Preview: Fresno Warriors vs. Roosevelt Rough Riders

Fresno hasn't had much luck against Roosevelt recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Fresno Warriors will face off against the Roosevelt Rough Riders at 6:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Fresno is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Bullard on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Fresno had to suffer through a 63-21 loss at the hands of Bullard. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly 42 points.

Meanwhile, Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 60-39 to San Joaquin Memorial. While losing is never fun, the Rough Riders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Panthers are ranked 59th).

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Fresno, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

Fresno couldn't quite finish off Roosevelt in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 and fell 44-42. Can Fresno avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
