Soccer Game Preview: Apalachee vs. Lambert

The Apalachee Wildcats will square off against the Lambert Longhorns at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Apalachee will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Winder-Barrow last Thursday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Bulldoggs by a score of 4-2. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Apalachee's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, Lambert had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Raiders. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Lambert's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked tenth, while North Forsyth are ranked 87th).

Lambert's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Apalachee, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9-1.
